Night Shift and Skeleton Crew by Stephen King

Scared of the Boogeyman in the closet? Ever get the creepy feels off a doll, an old car or a machine at work that makes scary noises? Giant sized rats terrify you? Feel like encountering a small town full of murderous kids on a road trip?

Horror maestro Stephen King’s Night Shift and Skeleton Crew have these bases covered for you and then some.

Both of these books are excellent collections of dark, sinister and macabre short stories. Stephen King proves he can excel in writing quality short stories to go along with his epic stanzas, i.e. The Stand, IT, The Dark Tower series.

Written much earlier in King’s career Night Shift, (1978) and Skeleton Crew (1985) will send shivers up and down your spine, making you want to read more and more!

In Night Shift Mr King gives us such gems as “Children of the Corn”, “Graveyard Shift”, “The Boogeyman”, “The Ledge”, “Night Surf” and “The Mangler”.  Skeleton Crew gives the reader “The Mist”, “The Monkey”, “The Raft”,  “The Reach” and “ The Wedding Gig”.

Overall there are 42 combined stories littered amongst the carnage within these books. Subject matter is varied, (without giving too much away of course) but is bound to make one scared, keep an eye open at night. The stories in here are guaranteed page turners!!

Stephen King is the master of turning everyday things into something as scary as Hell (pardon the pun) with his amazing mind.

I thoroughly enjoyed these stories and feasted upon the ideas Mr King put across here. If you are a fan of Stephen King or the Horror genre as a whole I highly recommend them. If you are new to Stephen King or Horror and feel like a quick read I dare you to give them a go!
