June brought us our first face to face session since March and boy was it great to be back!

War dogs – Shane Bryant
An Australian guy in Afghanistan as a dog handler. I quiet enjoyed it.

Jean Batten: the Garbo of the skies – Ian Mackersey
Loved it! Could not put it down. Biography that tells it as it is - it was really sad.

The day she cradled me – Sacha De Bazin
Novelised version of Minnie Dean.

Vicious circle – Wilber Smith
Loved it!


The medieval idea of marriage – Christopher N L Brooke

Focusing on 1100,1200s evolution of marriage customs.

The secret diary of Hendrik Groen, 83 ¼ years old – Hendrick Groen
Set in age care concern. Jolly good read!

Temperance Brennan series – Kathy Reichs 
Forensic archaeologist- bones of murder victims. Quite enjoying it.

The underground railroad: A novel - Colson Whitehead 
Puts a twist on the railroad. Told a good story.

Their little secret – Mark Billingham
Good read.

The apology – Eve Ensler
Letter from father to daughter that he had abused. She is writing the apology that she never received. Tough read.

 

The long call – Ann Cleeves
Really good read. A well written and interesting mystery.

Where to re koha bone sings – Tina Makereti

Moriori: A people rediscovered – Michael King

Twenty-one truths about love: A novel – Matthew Green
An interested read, written in lists.

It started with Paris – Cathy Kelly
Good Irish sense of humor. Really enjoyed it.

Tidelanes – Philippa Gregory
Interesting but quite bleak!
