Turn Up the Heat Challenges: Travel from Your Armchair

A quite breathtaking variety of places were visited by readers from their armchairs during this TUTH challenge.

Time After Time by Tamara Ireland Stone
I borrowed the first book in this series from my best friend and could not put it down, and the exact same thing happened with this sequel! It is set in both San Francisco and Chicago, both places I would love to see. Is time travel a place?? Because that would be an interesting place to visit too!! (Samantha)

The Lost Man by Jane Harper
Enjoyed the heat of the Australian outback and read The Lost Man by Jane Harper. This is an intriguing story about the death of one of three brothers and the circumstances leading up to his death. (Judith B)

The Prodigal Project #2 Exodus by Ken Abraham
This was great series as far as travel was concerned, traipsing across America, cities, towns and the middle of nowhere, covering Paris and Brussels, Pakistan/India border and the war machine moving across the Middle East. Although not too much information was given about each place, the author creates each scene to bring out the atmosphere in each setting. (Ruth)

Deception in the Cotswolds by Rebecca Hope.
It is a story about a lady who does house sitting in different homes in the Cotswolds, at this house an old man is murdered but made to look like a suicide and Theo works out who done by involving herslf with the family. A good story (Margaret H)

44 Shortland Street by Alexander McCall Smith describes in a very entertaining way a community of people living in and around Shorthand Street, Edinburgh. The people are well described and provide a microcosm of modern society. Lots of interesting stories and wonderful pieces of information about modern day Scotland! (Eileen)

The Scarlet Thread by Francine Rivers. An inspirational novel about Sierra, who discovers her ancestor’s handcrafted quilt and reads her journal. Mary Karthryn's describes the hardships endured on the Oregan Trail and yet Sierra discovers that their lives are very similar. Sierra decides to follow her ancestor’s example and makes a life-changing discovery. Loved it! (Olivia)
